4.2TD!
4.2TD!
4.2TD!

Good Luck in finding 1 !

Since Nissan stopped selling them new, the 2nd hand prices have risen
and they don't hang around long.

I couldn't agree more about the look of a raised with big feet.
4.2 definately the pick of the two. GQ 4.2 diesel only came out of the factory naturally aspirated (Patrols anyway, Safari's may be different), so a GQ with a 4.2 turbo diesel will either have an aftermarket turbo or a GU engine. Either way it's still better than a 2.8TD.
TD42 is a very stong, robust engine, with excellent low down torque. Adding a turbo (factory or aftermarket) makes them even better. I had an early GU with a TD42 (naturally aspirated) and fitted a genuine Nissan turbo kit from a wrecked GU TD42T. I also fitted a full 3inch exhaust including the turbo dump pipe, from Beaudesert Exhaust centre. With no other modifications, this set up had heaps of grunt and used about 14l/100km.

P.S. Is that a BA Falcon you've been taking offroad?

Hey tony thanks 4 the info, yeah its a ba and once its paid off its going they are a great car to drive heaps of grunt with the 2 and a half inch exhaust (sounds like a skyline when i'm into it) but I cant get it on the beach as easy as a gq would, he he he. that photo was taken of me taking it up duck creek road o'riely's. i even overtook a stuck rav 4 (i think the ba has longer suspension travel than the rav,sad ha.)
