Email received from Julie at HQ Plantations....Please reconsider you you are planning on heading up that way this weekend.

Please be aware we have closed public access to forest plantations due to expected extreme heavy rainfall events being forecast for the south east Queensland over the next few days. The affected plantation areas include the Beerburrum, Fraser Coast, Elliott River, Mary Valley, Jimna, Yarraman, Pechey-Esk and Passchendaele areas.

The plantations will be closed to all access unless specifically approved over the weekend 4 and 5 June 2016.

Due to the localised and heavy nature of rainfall events many of the plantation roads and tracks may be subject to flooding and may be damaged creating a serious risk to people attempting to use them. The potential for rapid rises of streams and waterways from heavy rainfall in the plantation areas is high increasing the risk to life and property.

HQPlantations is appealing to the public to respect this closure so that safe and responsible access to the plantations can be restored to the public as soon as possible.
