Hey all, a Scottish Gold Coaster here, just saying hi and i will try to make it to some of your meetings, just bought my first Patrol, so will be looking for all the help and tips I can. Started with the DX model as price was a factor, also had a lot lower K's, than others at the same price mark. With nothing already added I will be starting from scratch to build it up, this way I will be able to see and understand how it all works and comes together, so I can carry out running repairs when need be. Hopefully you guys can (not) give me a give shove in the right direction. hope to catch up for a cold beer and a chat.

Cheers

Phil

Hi Phil,
Welcome to the QNPC site, a good call on your part. My name is Andy and I can assure you of a hearty welcome should you manage to attend one of our general meetings, always held at 7.30pm on the third monday of each calendar month, the next being 18/2/13.

The 5 years I have been a member, has passed in a flash, time flies when you are enjoying yourself. When it comes to good advice on the technical side of things, there are 3 or 4 members who are mechanics.

The club boasts a technical officer who I believe knows more about Patrols, than a Nissan dealership. JMO.

Clubbers come from all walks of life, and are all keen to meet up and drive off in an orderly, safe, convoy fashion, to places such as Cape York, VHC, Western Australia, Lake Eyre, Ayers Rock, Simpson Desert, Camerons Corner, Stryzlecki & Birdsville Tracks, Snowy Mountains, Hay River, Alice Springs.

Those are some of the destinations visited by clubbers in the short time I have been here, and all club events are conducted, with the overall safety of clubbers, and the general public, paramount in our thoughts.

The club is family oriented and we have members, pre teen, to seventies, so there is no reason to worry on that score.

We meet at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds at 1644 Logan Road, just south of the Mt Gravatt shopping area. The Memorial Hall is on your left as you first turn in off the one way road south.

So Phil, I hope not to have scared you off, and that you mark that date on your calendar.

Give us a try!

Thanks for the response Andy, I only just realised that I missed the Monday meeting. we are training for Kokoda Grunt and the Kokoda Challenge, so running at nights, this is why it slipped my mind. Will try to make the next one. Had our first short run with it, just up to Wivenhoe with the Kayaks on the roof and full of camping gear, plenty of room so all good.smiley

Hi Phil
By all means, come along to our club meeting which is held on the third Monday of the month at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds to see what our club can offer you.
If you are interested in joining our club to see what benefits you can get, membership costs are $40 for a half year membership plus a $30 joining fee. This gives you access to a wealth of knowledge from club members as to how to best prepare your vehicle. Come along to a meeting as a vistior and we can outline the benefits of joining a club. Most people join for the social aspect. You do not have to join up straight away. Visitors can go on easy trips to see if our club offers what you are looking for me. If you come to the next meeting, see me and I can explain more.
