For anyone who don't know me I got involved through Graham who is a member of fishing forum that I am a member of and have become a good friend with since the first time I met him on one of the 4wd outings to Levuka. I like the format of this forum. Yesterday I was invited out with Graham and the club to go to O'Rielly's which was a tame outing but very pleasurable. Great company and thanks for having me. Just thought I would share some photos with you that I took. I hope this works.

While trawling aimlessly through old club trips, I came across this day out, and one of the very first trips I had ever enjoyed with the club.
That first snake in the tree impressed me much in the same way as Ron has described so well. I remember loosing my handheld radio after stopping for the gold coin donation, then retrieved it after a quick search over the road in, the radio missed by mere millimetres as two tyre tracks passed either side. The things that stick in your mind? I found the drive up the mountain to be a bit exciting???with nil experience along these lines.
The views from Shepards lookout awakening me to a taste of the many pleasures, to be found by the simple medium of 4x4 driving.
I hadn't ever been back to O'Riellys since camping there for 10 days with the scouts in 1958. My, how it had changed, so touristy. We all enjoyed a walk in the rainforest, came upon a red-bellied black snake, which failed to remain outside of my 2km exclusion safety zone.
Fed the birds, then back down to a lovely picnic site by a stream where those pictures of members cars were taken. A perfect spot to end such a lovely day.
Possibly, misplacing my radio, signalled the start of my addiction to being fined for such innocent misdemeanours. Although I really can't recall if I was nailed that time.
I hope reliving that day out will reawaken in some of those who attended that day, memories of how their friendship, cemented my desire to continue enjoying the many and varied pleasures, found so profusely in QNPC.
