As many of you are aware I have had a problem with our December 2006 4.2 diesel GU when towing the caravan It's fine on the flat but as soon as you look at anything other than a slight rise in the road the temperature goes through the roof, according to the temp gauge. It's rather frustrating when another member has a similar vehicle and towing a similar sized van has no problem.
My mechanic sent me to Westside Radiators, Spine Street, Sumner Park where Dennis, the owner, suggested I change the fan hub and also both radiator caps, replacing the caps with genuine (they were genuine I was replacing). So I did this and went for a drive to Toowoomba but still had the same problem. He then said ADRAD are manufacturing a replacement radiator to suit my vehicle and he would replace my radiator with the replacement. try it for a few weeks, and if it didn't work he would refit my old radiator all free of charge.
So again hitched on the caravan and went for a drive to Toowoomba. I'm happy to report the the temperature stayed normal, although it did start to rise as I got near the top of the range, but nowhere near where it had previously.

I guess the other thing to report is that the cost of this radiator for club members is $485 plus fitting. I believe fitting is around $240.00
I'm more than happy with the outcome

Been down that path, another issue i found was the little hose that links the radiator cap to the thermostate housing can get pinholes and wont show under a pressure test but will allow it to overheat. You should be able to rebuild the fan hub its fairly easy and just requires a bottle of Silicon Oil...
Also dont rely on the standard Nissan Temp gauge i have been told its only a few deg's between the middle marks on the gauge.
