ok I have battery, handbrake and sub tank warning lights staying on in my dash.
I have checked voltage on battery while both running and not running and also at B+ post on alternator and it reads 12 .26 volts at all points and times. therefore deducing the alternator is not charging.
I notice my alternator is a standard hitachi with a clutch pulley. . .whats the chances of the clutch not engaging so the alternator is not actually spining but just stationary and not charging. .

2003-4, patrol wagon . 3 litre turbo . . I can see alternator spinning and checked fuse and wiring so I guess I have to bite the bullet and get a new alternator

When sub tank and handbrake lights come on it is the alternator one of the brushes in the regulator will be stuck and not contacting. Mine has done it about 3 times I bit the bullet and bought a new one no more problems.
