Hi all,
Just thought I would shed a little light ney amusement on this subject.
As some of you know I enjoy mountain biking and do so 3-4 times a week if not more.
I ride at all times of the day and night so get to see and hear some unusual things.
I kept hearing odd noises in the bush particularly at dawn and again at dusk, sometimes I would stop and check by looking behind me, sometimes I would see a roo or a goanna or even at odd times big blue tongues or achinnas.
Most of the time I would see nothing. At times I would become most uneasy , glancing over each shoulder and getting faster an faster and sometimes crashing.
In the end I googled and internet researched and came up with the unexplained yowie.
Now I researched the hell outta this , joined the yowie research organization.
Would sent in observations and photos, discuss in forums etc etc etc.
Now believe me during all of this I saw some weird and wonderful things. ive even been growled at ( probably by wild dogs). . . in fact I became a bit of a self proclaimed expert. . . .
Now recently I was out riding at dusk and I kept hearing the noise of being followed again. . .id stop look around try whistling/ calling. . .and carry on till I heard it again then stop and perform the same ritual. . .
In the end I discovered what it was I had been hearing, tracking and studying for the last 18 months. . . .yes just what it was that had been following me along the winding tracks of daisy hill forest. . . . .
it was the water sloshing around in my water bottle in my bum bag. . ..

Hey Mark,
Reading abut your night fears, makes me think just how traumatic it must have been for you and your youngsters as you waited for hours in the dark on Ashley's steep hill, not knowing how the winching was progressing as the 4 cars were hauled up to the top. A classic medium trip, etched into the minds of all who participated.
